Tucson Band, Inamorato, Lands Spot in International Music Festival Finals
Tucson, AZ (PRWEB) May 11, 2007 -- Saturday night was a big night for Tucson-based Indie band, Inamorato. Unable to compete in the local elimination rounds of the prestigious Emergenza International Music Festival, they took their talent to Phoenix and won a spot in the Regional Finals to be held on June 30th. The Clubhouse Music Venue in Tempe will host the event where 12 bands will compete head to head and one winner will be chosen to progress to Nationals.
Being from Tucson, Inamorato, who describe their music as Post Emo-Punk, didn't have the most fans, but talent and hard work paid off as they sailed through round one and the semi-finals to secure their spot in the finals. Former American Idol contestant and lead vocalist for the band, Tora, was especially excited about their achievement. "We put everything we have out on stage. Not too many bands have a girl on vocals who can rock hard but that's what we do and people seem to love it. I'm happy that we don't have to depend on friends and family to get us through."
With over 50,000 bands participating worldwide, Emergenza is the most prominent musical contest for up and coming bands. Bands enter the festival and progress through various elimination rounds by audience vote. Once in the finals, the top six bands are chosen by vote. From the top six, a jury of industry experts selects the winner and best vocalist, guitarist, bassist and drummer. Only the winning band has the opportunity to compete at Nationals for spot in the international finals in Germany.
As the only band from Tucson, Inamorato hopes to gather a large following from their home town to come support them at the finals. They are offering a free version of their EP with each advance ticket sold and will be coordinating free van and car pools for the trip to Tempe on June 30th. Tickets for the regional finals are $15 in advance and $20 at the door and can be purchased from the band's website at http://inamorato.org/tour.html.
